PDL5
  • The PDL5 is also known as the "poor man's flow meter" as it uses a solenoid and a single pressure transmitter to switch between, and "read" both pressures across a camco box.
  • PDL5 development took place between 1999, with the CDi99, and 2009. There were no hardware changes to the board throughout this period. Development consisted of adapting the PDL to do different jobs such as methanol injector, line controller, gas lift, plunger lift, and implementing various pressure measuring technologies such as variable reluctance.
  • This effort ended in 2009 because implementing the Keller digital functionality would require an additional serial port and more program space, simply unavailable in the PDL5 hardware. So goodbye PDL5, and since the P6 seat is taken, hello P7.
